Where the settlement information comes from
Sources
- Official settlement administrator websites. Each settlement's administrator publishes the claim site, the deadline and the eligibility rules. These sites are the primary source for each record.
- Public court records. Settlement notices, orders and dockets filed in US courts are used to confirm the case name, the defendant, the class definition and the final hearing date.
What each record shows
- The case name, the defendant and the type of settlement
- A plain-English eligibility summary and any US state limits
- The claim deadline and, where stated, the final hearing date
- The payout range as stated in the official notice. This is a maximum, not a guaranteed amount
- Whether proof of purchase or other documents are needed
- The official claim site and the administrator's name
- The date we last checked the record
Every record links to its official claim site. Open that site to read the full notice and to make your claim.
How we check records
- We read the settlement's official administrator site and, where available, the public court record.
- We record the official source link and the date we checked it.
- We list a settlement only if its status is open at the time of checking and its claim site uses a secure (https) address.
- We review records again before each update of the feed. Settlements that have closed or changed are removed or updated.
Limits
Settlement information can change quickly. Administrators can change deadlines, rules and payment amounts. Records may be incomplete, and we may not have checked every settlement in the United States. Eligibility and payment are decided only by the settlement administrator or the court. We do not file claims for you.
Settlement feed
The app reads its settlement list from /feed/v1/settlements.json. The feed is a JSON array. Each record has the fields described above, including a lastVerified date. The feed is public, and you may read it for personal use.
Report an error
If you find a wrong deadline, a broken link, a settlement that has closed, or any other error, email support@dahmani.me. Include:
- The name of the settlement
- What is wrong, and what it should say
- A link to the official notice or claim site that supports the correction
We review every report and correct or remove the record when the official source supports the change.
